“I didn’t want to wear white," she told PEOPLE of the "simple and elegant" instructions she gave designer Pamella Roland for her two tied-with-a-bow bridal looks. "I never thought I’d get married, so I went very nontraditional with the gown. I love it.”

For her ninth anniversary to actor Timothy Busfield, the actress posted a throwback photo of their romantic wedding, where she wore a crimson strapless gown.

"The dress! It was quite a search," Gilbert told PEOPLE after the wedding. "The moment I saw it, I knew … and the color spoke volumes. Passion, fire, love: Red says all of those things to me."

Matching the beachy outdoor venue, the actress tied the knot to Ross Burningham in an orange printed maxi dress (which also perfectly vibed with the gorgeous sunset views during their vows).

"We did it! 1/2/22," the former talk show hosted captioned photos of the ceremony. "Ross and I said I DO! 💍🍾✨♥️🥰"

To tie the knot with Cuffe Biden Owens (the nephew of President Joe Biden), the former Real Housewives of Orange County star told Brides she decided to go the non-traditional route for her wedding look, from try-on to final look.

"I bought thousands of dollars worth of dresses online — everything from traditional gowns to cocktail dresses off the rack. And, breaking from tradition, I tried all of them on for Cuffe to see," she said. Her final pick? A Rasario blazer dress which she wore with lace gloves and blue Manolo Blahnik pumps.

"This dress you made for my wedding. I'm still not over it haha!" she captioned one of her Instagram Story photos of the gown, which featured a plunging neckline and revealing slits on both sides of the dress.

"I never conformed to the status quo or societal expectations," Quinn told PEOPLE of foregoing white. And even though she was "disappointed" in how her wedding was shown on the new season of the Netflix show, she always dreamed of marrying in black. "I've always enjoyed being bold, different and trendsetting. I've always wanted to get married in a black wedding dress, and I'm so happy that my dream came true."

The tattoo artist and makeup mogul ditched the traditional white gown for her second wedding to husband, musician Leafer Seyer, and went for a dramatic red gown with a cape and train courtesy of designer Adolfo Sanchez. Her look came adorned with red antlers and a person in a red bodysuit to hold her veil.

EMILY RATAJKOWSKI

The model channeled Bianca Jagger in a veiled hat and belted Zara pantsuit (which clocked in under $200!) for her surprise City Hall nuptials to Sebastian Bear-McClard. The pug made the perfect accessory.

Solange Knowles arrived to her New Orleans wedding to Alan Ferguson in a caped Stéphane Rolland jumpsuit – then changed into a caped Humberto Leon for Kenzo full-length gown for the ceremony. Not that we'd expect any less from the queen of hipster chic. (The pair separated in 2019.)

The Newsroom star shared plenty of sweet photos from her wedding to actor Joshua Leonard – including lots of good angles of her ruffled lemon-yellow gown and vintage-inspired engagement ring.

PIPER PERABO

Not only was Piper Perabo's silver sequin Michael Kors gown a memorable choice for her N.Y.C. wedding to director Stephen Kay, but the bold cathedral-length yellow veil she wore with it ensured it would not soon be forgotten.

She arrived in a boat and trekked over dirt and grass to get to the altar, so it makes sense that Amber wore a laid-back midi in a mustard shade that matched the turning leaves when she married David Cross.

For her ceremony in N.Y.C., the actress opted for pale green in the form of a flowing Carolina Herrera gown (which coordinated with wife Christine Marinoni's tie) and got her fix of bridal white with a bouquet of peonies.
